It all starts with the use of light-but-tough materials in the truck's construction. Ford has utilized the same high-strength steel box frame and aluminum alloy on the frame and body respectively, giving it some impressive weight. Add to that the grunt of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, which directs its 450 horses by way of a ten speed transmission, and you've got a truck capable of taking on virtually anything. The Terrain management system helps, too.
